We arrived early afternoon and discovered that the BBQ emu pizza has been moved to a "special" and not offered on the regular menu anymore. With that option off the table we ordered the Coat of Arms pizza which is half emu and half pepper kangaroo with red onion, bush tomato, capsicum (red bell peppers) & cranberries. It was DELICIOUS! We will certainly have to go back for another before we head back home. Fortunately, we have plenty of time to do it.
Even Brad, adventurous food connoisseur that he is, polished one off!
Full from a delicious pizza and a break in the rain, we decided we should head home via boat and through Chinatown since we haven't been there yet this trip.
In case you didn't know there are two events going on in Sydney at the same time this week - Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Bear Essentials 17. Over the course of the next week we will be attending some events belonging to each group and creating our own unique itinerary.
Tonight was the Harbour Party, a big outdoor dance party, held at the Sydney Botanical Gardens overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. We arrived and promptly waited in the drink line and much to our surprise the Jack and Coke came all ready to go in a can.
Despite some showers in the area there was quite a crowd at the party.
There were many dancing, and some trying, but as the night went on we got to the live entertainment portion of the party. DJ Alex Taylor kept the tunes going until Ricki Lee took the stage. The crowd went wild but, being from the US, we had no idea who she was. Her music was catchy and fit the mood of the party so we were happy for the change of pace.
When the DJ that followed Ricki broke out Whitney Houston's "Greatest Love of All", we knew it was time to check out. Who DOES that?!
